Here Are all the primary guns in Modern Warfare 2. Many of these guns are from COD4 but some of them are new. You get one primary gun per class and can unlock many attachments for each. Some guns are better than others in different circumstances. The photos below were taken from themodernwarfare2.com. They provide the name of the gun (top left corner), photo of the gun (middle left), description of the gun (bottom left), and the stats of the gun (right).

Assault Rifles

Assault Rifles are good for close quarters combat and long-range targets. These rifles have solid power, good sized magazines and the most attachments available.

Sub Machine Guns

Sub Machine Guns have a more limited range than Assault Rifles. They are excellent for close quarters combat, because of their high rate of fire. SMGs can be further customized with various attachments.

Light Machine Guns

These weapons slow your mobility, but on the other hand, Light Machine Guns are fully automatic and have huge magazines. These are good in both close and long range firefights.

Sniper Rifles

Sniper Rifles are long-distance weapons with great accuracy and fire power. The INTERVENTION is a bolt action rifle (must be reloaded after every shot), the rest are semi-automatic.
